Esv Sarafadeen Toyese Lawal, the Head and Coordinating Director of the Oyo state Housing Corporation, defeated Mr Tawfiq Akinwale and emerged the Public Relations Officer of Omo Ajorosun Club, Ibadan.
Lawal had 91 votes to defeat Akinwale, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Oyo state during the last election who had 31 votes.
The election which was conducted to fill vacant positions was held on, Sunday, 28th April, 2024 at the club’s secretariat, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
While speaking in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, Lawal, the new PRO thanked members of the club for the trust and love they have in him.
He promised not to disappoint them while noting that he will discharge his duties as stated in the constitution of the club for the betterment of the club, Ibadanland, Oyo state and Nigeria.
The office was vacant following the resignation of Dr. Olugbade Omotayo who contested for the President of the club.
Meanwhile, Chief Sunday Oyekanmi Gbenjo defeated Dr. Olugbade Omotayo to become the new President of the club.
Omo Ajosun Club, Ibadan, is a socio-cultural organization that aims to promote the welfare and well-being of its members and the community at large.
