Tears flow freely last night when the remains of former Oyo lawmaker, Hon. Ganiyu Waliu, were interred at his Oyagbe, Oke-Olola, Oyo residence last night.
The lawmaker was confirmed dead around 5 pm yesterday.
The deceased, who represented Atiba State constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, between 2011 and 2015 was a grassroots politician.
As a legislator, he empowered many people, including people who are neither his constituents nor partymen.
Since 1998 when he joined progressive politics, he was never found wanting as he was committed to the ideals of the party. Until he died, he was a top chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state.
He is survived by aged parents, wife and children.
Born on May 17th, 1972, he was educated at the Federal College of Education (Special), FCE, Oyo before proceeding to the then University of Ado-Ekiti, UNAD. He was planning to enrol for his Ph.D programme, after bagging a Masters of Education, M.Ed in 2014.
His 3-day Fidau prayer will hold tomorrow in Oyo.
Mourners have not stopped visiting his family.
