Hon. Engr. Bello Tajudeen Olori has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying the move follows extensive consultations with constituents, political associates, and well-wishers.
In a resignation letter dated May 7, 2026, and made public on Thursday, Olori stated that his decision takes effect immediately.
He said the step was taken after careful reflection on his political future and what best serves the people of Iwajowa Local Government and Iwajowa Constituency.
“My decision comes after careful reflection and extensive consultations with my constituents, political associates, and well-wishers,” Olori wrote.
“I believe it is now in my best interest and in alignment with my political convictions to chart a new course that better reflects the aspirations of the people I serve.”
The former PDP member expressed gratitude to the party for the platform, opportunities, and relationships it provided during his time as a member. He stressed that his exit was not borne out of ill will toward the party or its leadership.
“I am grateful for the platform, opportunities and relationships the PDP has afforded me during my time in the party. While I hold no ill will towards the party or its leadership,” he stated.
Olori reaffirmed his commitment to the principles of service, integrity, and development, pledging to continue working for the progress and unity of his people regardless of party affiliation.
“I remain committed to the principles of service, integrity, and the development of Iwajowa Local Government and Iwajowa Constituency, and I will continue to work for the progress and unity of our people,” he added.
The former PDP member said he would communicate his next political direction to the public and his supporters in due course, and asked for understanding and respect for his decision.
“In due course, I will communicate my next political direction to the public and my supporters. I ask for your understanding and respect for this personal and political decision,” he wrote.
