The recently nominated Caretaker Chairman for Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Shittu Liasu Ololade has congratulated the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde and the Oyo State People’s Democratic Party, PDP over the supreme court victory.
The apex court seated in Abuja, in a unanimous decision on Wednesday, set aside the decision of the Appeal Court.
The apex court held that the lower court erred by setting aside the decision of the tribunal which upheld Makinde’s victory.
Ololade in his congratulatory message noted that the landslide victory of Governor Makinde and PDP State assembly members across Oyo state is a prove of massive affection and trust the electorates key bestowed on the PDP and the candidacy of Makinde.
He said, “At the polls, our Governor had 515, 621 votes defeating, their candidate in APC, Adebayo Adelabu who polled 357,982 votes.
“We know challenging this kind of defeat in such peaceful election is mere waste of time and to distract our able Governor from serving the people of Oyo State optimally.
“Now, they have lost and the will of the people has prevailed over their wishful thoughts. We thus pledge our support to the people’s Governor and we will work hard to ensure the people won’t regret given us their mandate.”
