Youth and Sports Development Minister Mr. Sunday Dare has congratulated former Oyo State Governor Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala on his landmark 70th birthday.
According to Dare” Let me congratulate you on your 70th birthday. You have indeed come a long way and poised to even go further. I celebrate with you today and pray that God will continue to keep you in good health and give you the oto complete to serve”.
The Minister further noted that, “When you have the grace to celebrate this landmark age in good health and sound mind, then you have to give glory to God and roll out the drums in celebration. When you look back, then you realise there is course to celebrate. My prayer is that God will guide, protect and grant you strength as you continue in your life journey,” Dare concluded.
In the manner, the Saraki Adini of Ogbomosho, Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, has felicitated with the former Governor.
Salawu said he first met his Excellency Christopher Alao Akala on 26th of December, 1986 at Independence Hotel in Ogbomoso, he was in Company of Senator Brimo then Col Brimo.
“Very adorable and handsome man, if you have the privilege of knowing him then you will agreed with me that you can’t ignore him. I wonder how his female contemporary would have been feeling then, anyway he made the right choice.
“We are Celebrating him today not only because he his an extraordinary man but God shows is presence in his Life. He is a man of many parts perhaps the most experienced public servant that has governed Oyo state. From teaching in school to a police officer, Chairman of local Government to deputy Governor and later became Executive Governor of Oyo state between 2007 to 2011. He keeps contacts and he appreciate and acknowledge good deeds.
“He reciprocate respect and he can be mean if he have to. He loves being at home among his people. His love for Ogbomoso is second to none and has always demonstrates that. Today as will celebrate your 70th birthday I joined many well wishers all over the world to pray for you and ask God to make the remaining years you will spend to be more pleasant and to the glory of God.”
