The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) in Oyo state has raised alarm over the circulation of substandard lubricants in the State, calling on residents, distributors and other stakeholders to be conscious of these products in circulation.
This call was made known by the Acting State coordinator, Oyo state, Mr Muhammad Sani who led some officials of the organisation in a raid of about five warehouses and confiscated about 951 cartons of various brands of lubricants in the state.
At the second warehouse, 123 cartoons were put on hold, the third warehouse has 672 cartons, the fourth warehouse has 42 cartons while the fifth warehouse has 24 cartons in stock and were all put on hold.
The raid on major markets across the state on lubricants started at around 10.10 am where about 90 cartoons were put on hold at the first warehouse visited.
The operation ended at about 5.28pm with the affected warehouses sealed.
The acting state coordinator, Sani while speaking after the operation said the organisation would not fold its arms and allow some elements to turn the Nigerian market to a substandard avenue through acts.
He thereby called on businessmen and manufacturer to comply with the standard and production guidelines as provided by SON.
