Sedabuk Oil and Gas Industrial Ltd has rewarded its employees with cash prizes exceeding ₦10 million at its 2025 Employee Recognition and Awards ceremony held in Lagos.

The event, which drew over 300 staff members and management officials from the company’s various divisions and subsidiaries, was organised to celebrate excellence, commitment and long service across the organisation.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director, Engr. Adunola Oseni, said employee welfare had remained the backbone of the company’s steady growth since it was founded in 2018.

According to her, Sedabuk deliberately prioritised its workforce from the outset, stressing that no organisation could succeed without motivated and well-treated employees.

“From inception, we made a conscious decision to put our people first because no organisation can thrive when its workforce is neglected,” Oseni said.

She noted that the company, which operates more than 12 petrol stations across Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states, had maintained a clean record of prompt salary payments.

“Prompt payment of salaries is a mark of respect and responsibility. Since we started operations, we have never owed or delayed salaries,” she added.

Oseni further disclosed that Sedabuk reviewed and increased staff salaries twice in 2025, improved wages across all categories and sustained its seven-year-old One-Day-Meal Programme to ensure employees do not work on empty stomachs.

She explained that the cash awards, which cut across retail operations, station-based roles, marts, laundromats and group-wide excellence categories, were designed to reinforce a culture of appreciation and high performance.

“Today is not just about money. It is about recognising hard work and building a culture where excellence is celebrated because a motivated workforce is our most valuable asset,” she said.

The managing director assured employees that the company would roll out stronger welfare packages, better incentives and more growth opportunities in 2026, with the goal of positioning Sedabuk as one of Nigeria’s best organisations to work in.

She also urged staff to raise their performance levels in the coming year by working harder, smarter and in unity.

Highlights of the ceremony included the presentation of awards such as Pump Attendant of the Year, Station Captain of the Year, Mart and Laundromat Excellence Awards, and Special Recognition honours.

The Group Chairman’s Spirit of Excellence Award went to Adediran Segun Aderonke, who emerged as Sedabuk Star of the Year and received a ₦2m cash prize, while Ibiloye Olayinka won the Most Outstanding Employee of the Year award with ₦1m.

In his remarks, the Group Head, Human Resources and Administration, Mr Adeleye Olusanjo, praised the managing director’s leadership style, noting that staff welfare remained a core priority of the company.

“Management is already working on more incentives and improved support structures for staff as we move into 2026,” Olusanjo said.

Senior executives at the event included the General Manager, Finance and Strategy, Mr Aderoju Sola; the Group Head, Operations and Logistics, Mr Rufus Enioshunwa; and the Group Head, Corporate Audit, Risk and Ethics, Mrs Tolulope Omotola, among others.
