The Ambassador Olusola Sanu Foundation today donated textbooks and notebooks to Christ Church College, Odinjo, Ibadan.
This is just as the co-initiator of the foundation, Ambassador Sanu promised to build a library for Christ Church School, Ayegun.
He also promised to sponsor the university education of the present senior students of the College if they perform excellently in their senior school examinations.
Making the presentation at the dedication of the school hall and inauguration of the school governing board, the chairman of ? foundation, Prof. Adebayo Adeyemi, said it was out of the need for the children of the commoners to be educated that made the foundation to extend the gesture.
According to Adeyemi, who is the immediate past vice-chancellor of Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, the management should make judicious use of the materials, advising that they ?should be properly maintained and monitored so that those after them can also make use of it.
Earlier, ?the Vicar of the Church?, Ven. K. A Aremu expressed gratitude to those he described as partners, “whose invaluable contributions to the growth of this key college has been outstanding.”
He went further: “Our college, estab?lished on 14th September 2009 has had a modest and enviable growth till date. Despite the space constraints there has been an ever increasing development of facilities with the completion and dedication of the main school block on 17th September, 2015, the construction and dedication of the mini science laboratory on 9th January, 2016 and today, we are dedicating the school hall, computer room and library for the school.
“Our space constraint at Odinjo has prompted us to commence the development of a new and more spacious site at Ayegun for the college, with the foundation of the new site laid by our Lord Bishop on 9th January 2016. Many people thought we were going to abandon our Christ church College, Odinjo dream, but the development w have carried out at the school and the event of today would further assure everyone of our commitment to grow the school, as well as carry the dream of the proposed Ayegun School to fruition,” he explained?
