Mr. Zacch AdedejI, Executive Secretary of National Sugar Development Council, has urged Muslims faithful to reflect the essence of festivity as they celebrate the Eid l Kabeer festival.
Zacch in a statement signed and made available to newsmen on Tuesday said the essence of the festivity dwells largely on sacrifice, selflessness, unity, peace and love each other.
The statement read in full: “I wish to on behalf of my humble self and family felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of this year’s Eid El Kabir celebration.
“Even as we celebrate, dine and wine with our respective families today, we should continue to reflect on the essence of the festivity which dwells largely on sacrifice, selflessness, forgiveness, unity, piety and love for each other.
“Let’s endeavour to use this important occasion to also pray for national peace, unity, development and prosperity. Thankfully, even as challenging and difficult as the times are, God has kept us together as one united, indivisible and prosperous nation.
“I urge us to dwell more on those things that unite us and talk less about our faultlines. May all the blessings that accompany this all important celebration locate our individual homes and nation as a whole.
“Once more, Barka Da Sallah.”
