The Deputy Governor Nominee of the Oyo state Chapter of the Allied People’s Movement, APM, Engineer Muftau Open Salawu, has extended humanitarian support to communities across Ogbomoso and other parts of the state ahead of the Sallah celebrations, through cash gifts, food items, and livestock distribution.
Salawu, who also holds the title of Giwa Adinni of Oyo State, said the gesture was part of efforts to support residents and ease economic hardship as Muslims prepare for the Eid festivities.
According to the initiative, the Babalaje of Ogbomoso donated ₦200,000 each to the members of executive of the five local government areas in the Ogbomoso zone. The benefiting councils include Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Ogo Oluwa, Surulere, and Orire Local Government Areas.
In addition to the cash support, Salawu also distributed 50 bags of rice across the five local governments, with each ward receiving at least one bag of rice to ensure grassroots coverage.
Beyond the Ogbomoso axis, the Waziri Jari of Nupe Kingdom further extended his gesture across Oyo State with the distribution of 50 rams, specifically to support Sallah celebrations, religious observances, and vulnerable households.
