The 2027 Oyo State Governorship Candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has sympathized with the people of Oriire Local Government Area over the May 15 attack and abduction of teachers and pupils at Ahoro-Esinele and Yawota communities.
Adekanmbi was accompanied by APM senatorial candidates seeking elective positions on the party’s platform. The team visited Ahoro-Esinele, Yawota, and other adjoining neighbourhoods on a condolence and sympathy mission.
While addressing parents of the abducted pupils, community leaders, and villagers of the affected communities, Mr. Adekanmbi commiserated with them over the gruesome killings and kidnappings.
He also assured them of the quick rescue of the teachers and pupils still in captivity and expressed confidence in the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde to ensure the hostages are rescued unhurt. He acknowledged the work being done by the military and other law enforcement agents.
In his remarks, the APM candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Stanley Olajide, thanked the security agencies for living up to expectations so far. He urged them not to relent in rescuing the victims.
Hon. Olajide noted that the APM visiting team and the entire people of Oyo State stood solidly with the people of Oriire Local Government and the parents of the victims at this challenging time. He prayed for the safe return of all abducted teachers and pupils.
Also on the sympathy train were the APM candidate for Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon. Shina Peller; Amb. Olufemi Ajadi; Sunday Makanjuola; former Commissioner for Works in the state, Prof. Raphael Afonja; and other party members.
