A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency, Engr. Aderemi Oseni, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Chief Michael Koleoso, a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government.
Koleoso, who served as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) during the late Governor Lamidi Adesina’s administration from 1999 to 2003, passed away in the early hours of Monday at the age of 86.
He was also a former National Chairman of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD), where he played a pivotal role in shaping the political landscape of Oyo State and Nigeria.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Idowu Ayodele, in Ibadan, Oseni described Chief Koleoso as a visionary leader, astute administrator, and committed statesman whose contributions to the state’s governance and democratic evolution would forever be remembered.
“The passing of Chief Michael Koleoso is a great loss, not only to his family and the people of Oyo State but also to the entire nation. He was a leader whose dedication to public service and love for his people were evident in his years of service as Secretary to the Oyo State Government.
“His leadership and legacy as the National Chairman of the defunct Alliance for Democracy will continue to inspire generations,” the lawmaker said.
The Chairman, House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) further extended his heartfelt condolences to the Koleoso family, the people of Oke-Ogun, and the entire Oyo State, praying that God grants the departed elder statesman eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
“Chief Koleoso’s death marks the end of an era of selfless service and unwavering commitment to the betterment of our dear state. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on,” Oseni concluded.
