The House of Representatives today set up an ad hoc committee to investigate the excessive electricity charges by distribution companies.
This was after the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East / South East, Dapo Lam-Adesina moved a motion on the need to curb excessive electricity charges being levied on consumers by distribution companies(discos) through prepaid meters on the floor of the House of Representatives.

The motion was supported by majority of members at plenary.
The committee is to investigate and report back to the house in six (6) weeks.
