You Can Only Run, You Can’t Hide – Oyo APC Tells Makinde

It is distressing to note that under a government that has sworn to protect the lives of Nigerians, and give proper attention to our well being as failed us totally as a Government.

Again, we woke up as a people to the news of the rejection of the rice by the state government of Oyo and Southwest Governor’s, which was given as support palliative by the Federal Government of Nigeria to ease the Convid Hunger affecting us as citizens.

The Oyo state government as expresses that those rice given to them by the Federal government are not good enough for consumption which as been key infected by weevils and other pets.

In all sincerity, this government has continually proven to be paying lip-service to the welfare and well being of the people which ordinarily in accordance to the Constitution is meant to be the number one priority of every government.

It is embarrassing that despite the fact that the government who as earlier posited that this foreign rice cause more harm to our well-being as citizens, which makes the government resolved to the policy of border closure so as to stop and ban the importation of foreign rice but it interesting me to see that same rice was been given as palliative support to state government.

It’s highly preposterous that the Federal government can now deemed it fit to support the state government with this same foreign rice that has been condemned and resolved that’s harmful. This same rice has been in the custody of The Nigeria Custom Service for almost a year which has been infected by weevils and other pets, that’s likely to have expired due to the preservative methods used. It is a pity that the Federal Republic Of Nigeria has drifted to comatose under this Buhari regime.

It is quite unfortunate that a country which offered so much in hope and possibilities for its citizens at independence has today become a land of suffering, despair, insecurity and near hopelessness signposted by youth unemployment, poor electric power supply and ethno-religious crisis.

Today, Coronavirus pandemic as been affecting us and threatening our existence, which as are suffering and hunger as been affecting us as human persons which has resulted to the strong grip of thieving and also the vaccilating class of people masquerading as leaders has reduced a promising country to the poster child of corruption, underdevelopment and insecurity. Our unflinching trust in the National Assembly as a legal answer to insulating the political ceilings of the Nigerian state has been betrayed and shattered.

In the midst of uncertainties facing us as a people, i call on the President to put on a serious concerted effort aimed at eliminating and find lasting solution to convid Hunger affecting us since the raging of the pandemic disease in the country.

The problem of poverty the government purports to fight roams the street while nothing is being done. The country, in reality, is moving backwards as against the desire for growth and progress. We are in the dark ages and our representatives are asleep away form their responsibilities..

ADESINA JULIUS writes from Oke Ogun Region of Oyo state
