In what looks like fore-warned, the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi has asked the Oyo state government to work ahead of traffic gridlock that may arise from the commercial activities at the proposed Ibadan Inland dry Port.
Amaechi stated this during the handover ceremony and exchange of letters of the Ibadan Inland Dry Port between the Oyo state government and the Federal government, held at the Governor’s office, state secretariat, Ibadan.
The transport minister, however, advised the state government, especially the incoming administration to develop adjoining roads around the Ibadan Inland Dry Port to ease traffic around the area.
In a remark, Executive secretary and Chief executive officer, Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Hassan Bello disclosed that the Ibadan Inland Dry Port, which would be sited on a ninety hectares land at Olorisha Oko village, Akinyele Local Government, would cost over ninety nine million dollars.
Oyo state Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi commended the Federal government for bringing significant projects to the state, which would serve as economic boost to the state.
