A federal lawmaker representing Ibarapa central/Ibarapa North federal constituency, Hon Olugbenga Ojoawo has handed over a police station, senior police quarters and police patrol van to the Nigeria police for adequate protection of lives and properties of citizens in his federal constituency.
Presenting the keys of the police station, quarters and the patrol van to the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu in Igangan town, Ojoawo said the responsibility of securing lives and properties of Igangan people that has been poorly managed as a border community made him to facilitate the ‘Abuja type II Standard police Station to his constituency ‘.
He said this is one of the numerous projects he has facilitated to the constituency in the last three and half years in office.
Receiving the keys of the ‘Abuja type II standard police station’ in Igangan, the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu who was represented by the AIG zone Eleven, Leye Oyebade said Security is an indispensable tool for sustainable growth and development of any Community.
AIG Leye Oyebade said Community policing is imperative to partner between the police and the community so as to bring about desired peace and tranquility.
He added that the police station will boost crime Fighting in Igangan and its environs. He assured that police officers will be deployed to the new police station as soon as possible and lauded the facilitator of the project.
Earlier in his remarks the Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukoku pledged that the officers and men that will be deployed to the station will make judicious use of the facility.
As part of the 3rd projects inauguration of Hon. Olugbenga Ojoawo also inaugurated a skill acquisition center located at Isale Oba, Igboora an effort aimed at reducing poverty, where youth and women will be trained in tie and dye, soap making, cream, event decoration, cake and confectionaries and many more.
