The Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde on Thursday visited his counterpart in Kogi state, Yahayah Bello at his office, in Lokoja.
Makinde who is in the state for the screening exercise of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, governorship aspirants ahead of the state gubernatorial election.
A tweet by Governor Bello’s Chief Press Secretary reads “Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello Receives The Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Seyi Makinde in His Office at The Lugard House, Lokoja.
“Governor Makinde said he was in Kogi state for the People’s Democratic Party’s activities and by the rule of engagement, had to pay a courtesy call on the Governor.”
Insideoyo.com also gathered that Makinde jokingly told Yahaya Bello that he is in the state to screen PDP’s candidate that will face the governor in the next election.
He said, “I am in your state to kick off the process that will produce the candidate that will face Your Excellency in the coming election”
Makinde also commended the governor for the leadership he is providing for the people of Kogi state.
While speaking, Governor Bello also thanked the visiting Governor for the visit and assured him of a peaceful and successful stay in Kogi State.
