As a way of encouraging young Ibadan entrepreneurs who have been doing their business in the state capital, against all odds, the lawmaker representing Ibadan North East / South East in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedapo Lam-Adesina held a surprise dinner for two young entrepreneurs who won the maiden edition of Omo Oloore Young Person of the Year Award.
At the event which held inside the exclusive Best Western Plus Hotel, Iyaganku, Ibadan, 19-year old Sekinat Ogunsesan and 28-year old Kazeem Bolarinwa from Ibadan South East and Egbeda local government areas respectively were awarded, with each of them going home with the sum of N250, 000.
For many days, the aspirants were made to solicit votes on instagram. Kazeem came first with over 200 votes while Sekinat was the first female with close to 200 votes.
Youths, who are doing well in their various fields of endeavour, were in attendance. This is just as they showered encomiums on the former commissioner for his accessibility and creativity.
The winners, who were at the programme, lauded the Lam-Adesina for the initiative, saying that they are motivated by the gesture.
Kazeem, a first class graduate of business administration from the Ahmadu Bello University, is a business brand strategist and consultant, project manager, trained risk manager, Health and Safety Executive (HSE), experienced marketer and advertiser, public speaker, negotiator, and a designed thinker, while Sekinat, a medical student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,Ogbomoso, is a teenage makeup artist and gele stylist.
