The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi last week did the unexpected.
Oba Adeyemi, who was on his way to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for a meeting stopped his convoy at Owode area of the ancient town. This development, insideoyo.com learnt, made those in his convoy to alight as it was unusual.
Sighting this, people who have shops and members of the Oyo branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, trooped out to pay homage to him.
After playing with them, the monarch gave the money, thanking them for their love.
A palace source, who confirmed this much to insideoyo.com, said ‘Kabiyesi just decided to stop for his people. He was happy to play with them. They shared jokes and he gave me money before continuing the journey to Ibadan.
