The Speaker of the Oyo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin and the commissioner for Youth and Sports, Miss Wasilat Adegoke joined other youths in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital to demand justice for the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
The youths who gathered in their numbers wore black clothes and carried placards with inscriptions like #JusticeforMohbad and #WhoOffLight among others walked through, Mokola/Oremiji, Sango, to the Trans-amusment part, secretariat gate and others
Mohbad died last Tuesday and was buried on Wednesday in Ikorodu, and his death has attracted concerns, as some accused the owner of Marlian Records and singer, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley.
Justice For Mohbad peaceful rallies coming days after a protest was launched in Ikorodu, Lagos, in seeking justice for Mohbad.
Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin who addressed the protest at different points commended the youth for standing up for justice, adding that all well meaning Nigerians must lend their voices to call for justice for Mohbad.
Oyo Speaker who described his death as painful and shocking, said the deceased was a talented and highly inspired young musician whose songs are lyrical and melodious.
He said late Mohbad who rose from grace to grass exhibited a great passion for music.
“It is unfortunate that Ilerioluwa Imole died in a mysterious circumstances. The investigation team set up by the Nigeria Police Force must be thorough in their job. Everyone connected with the death of the young man must be questioned, investigated and the cause of his death must be unraveled. Why did the Police fail to investigate a petition he sent to them on constant threats to his life?
“There are video clips showing Mohbad being beaten and bullied yet no one was arrested at that time and no one was prosecuted. He also did some audio recordings of his depressing situation and condition but nothing was done by the security agencies to secure the life of the promising singer.
“This is rather pathetic, pitiful and condemnable.” Oyo Speaker said
