The Resident Electoral Commissioner(REC) in Oyo State, Barr. Mutiu Agboke has reiterated the commitment of the Commission at ensuring that, on no ground should a voter be denied the right to vote owing to any form of disability.
Barr. Agboke stated this on Tuesday 29th January at a day sensitization and mobilization workshop for persons with disabilities (PWDs), organised by the Commission and held at Oluyole Cheshire Home in Ibadan.
The Hon.REC stated further that, the Commission has also made some giant strides, aimed at attracting Persons with Disabilities to exercise their franchise and perform their civic duty.
The National Chairman,Board of Trustee (BoT) of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Prince Paul Adelabu, commended INEC for mainstreaming PWDs into the electoral process.
He admonished his other members to contribute meaningfully into the electioneering process, enjoining them to as well participate actively in the coming general elections.
