He added that from all indications, people are yearning to enjoy dividends of democracy at the grassroots level hence, the candidates should endeavour to compliment the good work being done by Engr Seyi Makinde led administration by fulfilling all their campaign promises, stressing that Governor Makinde has raised the bar of governance by ensuring that it is no longer a business as usual in the State.

Also speaking in the same vein, the Chairman Pace Setter Transport services Limited, Prince Dare Adeleke admonished all the candidates against putting their personal interest above that of the electorates but rather replicate the quality of work embarked upon by Engr Seyi Makinde in the State.

Speaking on behalf of the market leaders, traders, artisans and others, the Iya Loja of Adegoke Adelabu Shopping Complex, Chief Bunmi Adesanya applauded the Oyo State governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for prompt payment of workers’ salaries and gratuities of pensioners since assumption of office on or before the 25th of every month, stressing that this gesture by the governor has had tremendous impact in their patronage immediately the workers received their salaries.

Mrs Adesanya who disclosed that there are three categories of electorates during the election; politicians who constitute five percent, civil servants about 20% while the remaining 75% are artisans, traders, pensioners and students, hinted that with Engr Makinde’s impressive performance so far, she has no doubt that Gov. Makinde has already secured 50% votes from the third categories of the electorates plus nothing less than 18% from civil servants to win in the 2023 general elections.

The Iyaloja who is also the Yeyesewa of Ibadanland and Founder of the Nigerian Beautician and Hairdressers Association of Nigeria enthused that because she is not a politician, it will be difficult for her to say anything about the first category of the electorate who are mainly politicians that constitute only 5% of voters at the election.

She thereafter enjoined all the PDP candidates for the local government election to emulate the political ideology of Engr Makinde so that the electorates can enjoy more dividends of democracy.

Also present at the rally were the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Daud Sangodoyin, Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin, Hon. Abdulrasaq Abdulahi (Omo Sheu), Hon. Segun Popoola, Special Adviser to the governor on Tourism and Culture, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige, PDP Chairman, Engr Sulaiman Adesina, Hon. Fatai Adeshina, Hon. Abiodun Adedoja Ekolo, Mogaji Abass Oloko, Hon. Yaya Akinbile, Hon. Bamidele Ojo, Hon. Jimoh Fadipe, Hon. Sunday Babatunde, Hon. Yinka Omikunle, Kamoru Fabunmi, Alhaji Tiamiyu Abidikugu and Mr Kunmi Adesina.
