Chief Yekini Adeojo, a renowned politician, elder statesman, and pillar of democracy in Oyo State and Nigeria, has passed away.
He died on Friday, April 4, 2025.
Chief Adeojo was a highly respected figure in Nigerian politics, having served as the first PDP gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State and as a member of the PDP Board of Trustees.
A devout Muslim, Chief Adeojo held the title of Seriki Adinni of Yoruba Muslims and was committed to promoting peace, unity, and religious harmony.
His passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes and condolences from across the political spectrum, with many praising his contributions to Nigerian democracy and his commitment to the development of Oyo State.
Chief Adeojo is survived by his children, including Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, and Hon. Elias Adeojo, the Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation and others.
