The acting Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Oyo State chapter, Alhaji Abideen Olajide, popularly known as ‘Ejiogbe’, has pledged that nobody would be victimised in the union.
Ejiogbe disclosed this during the monthly meeting of the union held at the union office, New Garage, Ibadan.
The new chairman urged members to embrace the peace that has been prevailing in the state despite the death of the former chairman, Alhaji Taofeek Oyerinde (Fele).
He said “NURTW has been known for maintaining peace, especially during the administration of our departed chairman, Alhaji Oyerinde (Fele).
“With this in mind, all negative sentiments must be buried and selfless/positive contributions become the habit of all stakeholders. Permit me to pledge that no one shall be victimised, but everyone must observe and respect the laws and constitution of the union.
“This administration shall be an inclusive one as every member, including the elders, would be allowed to play deserving roles which would enable us to achieve our target goals.
Olajide, however, thanked that governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, and the National President of the union, Alhaji Nojeemdeen Usman Yasin, for their fatherly contributions in the last few weeks since the transition of Alhaji Oyerinde.
