The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo state chapter, on Monday, inaugurated 32fm as one of the arm of its chapel in the state.
The inauguration took place at 32fm office, Dugbe, Ibadan by the state chairman of Oyo state NUJ, Comrade, Demola Babalola at Ibadan.
In his speech, Babalola commended 32fm station for its doggedness, discipline and effort in news reportage to ensure that the people of the state are feed with up to date news reportage.
He further described 32fm station as different kind of station which always give out the ideal, vision and mission of behind setting up of the organization.
Comrade Babalola further elucidated that the content and issues deliberated upon on the station on regular basis are good for the society irrespective of the various challenges confronting the nation which is varying from economy challenges, security challenges and others.
He admonished journalists in the state to always be security conscious whenever they are on assignment as the country is moving to the election period.
Earlier in his welcome address, the General manager 32fm, 94.9, Mr Samuel Akintan, appreciated the good work of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo state chapter noting that there is no way a nation can do without journalist which stand as the fourth estate of the realm.
He noted that there is no way a notion can survive without the power of the media noting that at time like this Nigeria as a nation needs media to be at its height to take the country to the peak of the comity of successful nation.
Mr Akintan urged Nigeria Union of Journalists to continue in it good work and to ensure it stands out in news reportage and to wipe out promoter of fake news creator among them.
In his inaugural speech, the pioneer chairman of 32fm Chapel, Mr Chike Ogbogu said that there is much work to do which would be begin in earnest.
He further explained that 32fm as a station has to stand out in discipline and must be at the top gear.
Chike further recounted that the 32fm chapel would collaborate with Nigeria Union of Journalists Oyo state chapter in term of welfare of its members in working side by side with the chairman of NUJ, Comrade Babalola to make sure that professionalism and welfare are paramount among its members.
He promised that the new executive of 32fm chapel will work together with its members to put the station to the limelight to take the organization to an enviable height amongst others.
Chike advised all the members of 32fm Chapel to allow team bonding and work together with the new executive to achieve professionalism and take the chapel to higher height.
At the end of the event, the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo state chapter sworn-in the executive for 32fm chapel.
The new executive are: The chairman of the chapel, Mr Chike Ogbogu, Vice chairman Peter Olasupo, Secretary, Mrs Oluwatoyin Fasalejo, Treasurer, Mrs Temilade Aloko, Financial Secretary, Emmanuel Ibikunle, Assistant General Secretary, Olanrewaju Adepoju and Auditor, Mr Yusuf Badmos.
