Mrs Tosin Togun, a frontline advocate for youth and community development in Oyo State, has been honoured with the Distinguished Leadership Award at the 2025 International Volunteer Day Celebration and Award Ceremony held in Ibadan.
The event, organised by the Community Chest Council (CCC) in collaboration with the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, took place on Friday at the Social Development Training Centre, Samonda.
It brought together several organisations working across the state to promote volunteerism, humanitarian service and public welfare.
Mrs Togun, who currently serves as Vice President 2 of the Community Chest Council, Oyo State chapter, was recognised for her long-standing commitment to community service, youth empowerment and the welfare of vulnerable groups.
She is the set leader of the NGO Hope for Preteens, Teens, Youths and Vulnerable Ones Initiatives, under which she also runs The Hope Orphanage Home in Bashorun, Ibadan. Her work through the initiative has supported children, young people and families in need across several communities.
Presenting the award, the organisers described her as a consistent pillar of service whose leadership has strengthened humanitarian work within the state.
Mrs Togun expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed her commitment to advancing community welfare.
She added that the award would encourage her team to deepen interventions targeted at young people and vulnerable groups.
The event also featured seminars on advocacy, proposal writing and fundraising, with the theme focusing on the role of volunteers in the twenty-first century.
The International Volunteer Day celebration by the Community Chest Council has become a major annual gathering for organisations promoting social support services and community development initiatives in Oyo State.
It was attended by government officials, development partners and volunteer groups from across Oyo State.
