No fewer than 50 youths from Ibadan South West Constituency 2 are set to benefit from a life-changing technical trainers recruitment and training program facilitated and fully sponsored by Hon. Oluwafemi Oluwafowokanmi Adebayo, member representing the constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
The program, a partnership between Abiola Ajimobi Technical University (TECH-U), Ibadan and Bugotake Technology Nigeria, is designed to produce university-certified technical trainers who will drive Federal Government-approved Technical Entrepreneurial Education in schools across the constituency.
According to details from the organizers, the _Constituents Technical Trainers Recruitment & Training Program_ will be flagged off on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the University Auditorium, TECH-U, Ibadan. The event will feature a program briefing and documentation for the 50 sponsored beneficiaries.
Speaking on the initiative, the program managers noted that the scheme aligns with TECH-U’s mandate of “developing brains, training hands” and aims to establish a university-certified technical training center in Hon. Oluwafowokanmi’s constituency by April 2026.
Following the flag-off, the beneficiaries will undergo a 10-day intensive technical training scheduled to hold at Hon. Oluwafowokanmi’s Constituency Office. Training sessions will run from Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
The initiative will empower the trainees to deliver high-quality technical skills and entrepreneurial education, positioning them as trainers within their communities.
Hon. Oluwafowokanmi, who fully sponsored the 50 slots, said the program is part of his commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development in Ibadan South West 2.
“As lawmakers, it is part of our job to create an atmosphere or avenue that will open doors of opportunities that ordinary citizens cannot open alone for our constituents. We are not just training youths for today’s jobs. We are building trainers who will create jobs and transfer skills for generations,” he said.
