About nine leaders of the Unity Forum Group and Lamists, a political movement with the doctrine of former Oyo state governor, Lam Adesina, pledged their support for the election of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bayo Adelabu.
The members comprising of Fatai Ibikunle, former governor Lamidi Adesina’s personal assistant, Bayo Adewusi, Goke Oyetunji, Alhaji Alade Baba Mayo, Lekan Kazeem, Lasun Adebunmi, Isiaka Alimi, Adeyemi Kosigiri met in Ibadan on Sunday to declare support for the governorship candidate.
Recall that last year, some members of the Lamists under the auspice of the Unity Forum dumped the ruling APC over rancour during the primary elections in the state.
Their return came a week after the former Governor of Oyo state, Adebayo Alao-Akala also returned to the APC and dropped his governorship bid.
Opposition parties in Oyo state are also working out mega alliance to unseat the ruling party ahead of Saturday’s votes.
