A governorship aspirant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Peter Olaoluwa, has donated ₦2 million to support the smooth running of the party’s state secretariat.
He made this gesture during a visit to the APC office in Oke-Ado, Ibadan, on Monday.
Olaoluwa, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Oyindamola Olaoluwa, and key party members from Oyo East and Afijio Local Government Areas, reaffirmed his commitment to bolstering party activities.
He was received by the Acting State Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, who represented the APC State Chairman, Alhaji Olaide Abass.
Olaoluwa used the occasion to congratulate the leadership on their resilience and urged members to remain united. He also condoled with the party over the death of its former chairman, Hon. Isaac Omodewu, who passed away earlier this year.
In addition to the monetary donation, Olaoluwa pledged to equip the secretariat with air conditioning systems to enhance its operations. He called for patience and trust in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasizing that the current policies would yield positive results in due time.
Responding on behalf of the party chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite thanked Mr. Olaoluwa and his entourage for their contributions and stressed the importance of discipline and reconciliation within the party as it strategizes to reclaim power in 2027.
Oyo APC Publicity Secretary Olawale Sadare also praised Olaoluwa’s dedication, noting his previous donation of printing equipment to the party.
Other party leaders, including Mrs. Taiwo Moteleola, State Welfare Secretary, and Prince John Oyetunji, Youth Leader, lauded Olaoluwa’s contributions.
Moteleola specifically called for increased inclusion of women in future empowerment programs, advocating for at least 60% female representation.
The visit drew attendance from prominent APC stakeholders, including members from Afijio, Atiba, Oyo East, and Oyo West local governments.
