Oyo Lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon.Oluyemi Adewale Taiwo has organized and sponsored a 2-day certificated empowerment training in brackish water cage culture for his constituents.
The training which took place at Federal College of Fisheries and Marine Technology, Victoria Island, Lagos did not cover Taiwo’s two Local Governments but also some other selected Local Governments across the Southwest Geopolitical Zone.
The 2-day training in Aquaculture Value Chain for the 20 selected beneficiaries in his Federal Constituency of Ibarapa East/Ido was said to be theoretical and practical oriented classes which enhanced issuance of certificates to the beneficiaries at the end of the exercise by the lecturers.
While speaking on purpose of the empowerment, Hon. Yemi Taiwo said the motive behind the sponsorship of the empowerment programme like this for his Constituents is not far fetch from the fact that Agricultural sector of this country has once been the main revenue mainstay of this country, adding that its bankrolling was to support the drive of both the Federal and Oyo State Governments in bringing back alive the sector.
He said that he decided to empower his Constituents on how they can be productive in fish farming which can in turn take them out of poverty for life, if opportunity is well utilized by the 20 beneficiaries from his Federal Constituency of Ibarapa East and Ido.
The Federal Parliamentarian promised that more meaningful, Impactful and productive Empowerment trainings that will take his people out of poverty are underway.
