The All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo State has commiserated with the lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Teslim Folarin, over the demise of his wife, Barr. Angela Folarin.
A statement by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde, said the death of Angela, who died in the United Kingdom on Friday afternoon, was beyond description and imagination.
“That the woman is of amiable and respectful personality is never an understatement.
“That the woman does not suffer any illness says a lot about this worthless life.
“That the death of Barr. (Mrs) Angela Folarin was devastating to Oyo APC is stating the obvious because we appreciate the wonderful support she had been to our serving Senator Teslim Folarin and we know that her death has created a vacuum that would be difficult to fill in the life of our distinguished Senator.
“Although we are sad, shocked and pained, however, all we have to do now is to pray Almighty God to grant the deceased forgiveness and mercy. We also pray Almighty God to stand by our distinguished Senator Teslim Folarin and the family she left behind.
“On behalf of the Caretaker Chairman of the APC in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, the State Caretaker Executive Committee and all the APC members in Oyo State, we send our sympathy to distinguished Senator Teslim Folarin and the entire Folarin family,” the statement read in part.
Similarly, two gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Niyi Akintola and Engineer Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe have condoled with Senator Teslim Folarin over the demise of his wife, Mrs Angela Folarin.
Akintola and Tegbe in separate statements made available to newsmen on Friday prayed that may God give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
Akintola said: “I have been so shocked beyond explanations since the news was broken to me early this afternoon and even when I spoke to you earlier today, it was so clear that I could not muster enough words to convey my feelings to you for I was thrown off balance. It shows that this life is not balanced at all.
“How do we explain this as ordinary mortals? What do we call this and what do we know about life? Why do we dessipate so much energies and strength over vanities? Life is just too ephemeral and world continue to compound us as ordinary mortals.
“May God Almighty give you the fortitude to bear the loss my brother, confidant and compatriot. My heart and brains are with you at this moment of your grief.”
Tegbe said: “My sincere and heartfelt condolences to my brother, Senator Teslim Folarin on the loss of his dear wife, Barrister Angela Nwaka Folarin.
“Mrs Folarin would be remembered as a passionate Nigerian who doubled as a supportive, accomodating and caring wife and mother.
“May Almighty God comfort my brother and the entire Folarin family. May the Almighty Allah grant repose to her soul”
