Less than 9 days after retiring as the head of service of Oyo State, Mr. Soji Eniade on Thursday, formally joined the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
For many months, before he retired, rumours had it that Eniade, who is the son of an APC leader in the state- Chief Ayo Eniade, is one of those considered by outgoing Governor Abiola Ajimobi as possible successor.
Two weeks to his retirement, insideoyo.com had reported how Ajimobi offered him a political as executive assistant on administration.
Registering at Ward 12 area of Ibadan North East local government area, Eniade explained that his decision to join politics was to heed calls by residents across the state for him to utilise his intellect and experience for the continued development of the state.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the destination of Eniade’s political journey which began Thursday is being the next governor of Oyo State.
It would be recalled that Ajimobi, at the 2018 inter-faith prayer session praised Eniade’s personality, assuring of political mentorship if Eniade ventured into politics.
Ajimobi had lauded Eniade’s high intellect, professional excellence, native intelligence, loyalty and humility.
Speaking after his registration at Methodist E9 School, Ibadan, Eniade assured that he would abide by party4 stipulations in total adding that his venturing into politics was driven by concern for the welfare of the people and commitment to ensuring sustained development of the state
Following his registration at the ward level, Eniade is to continue with series of consultations with various stakeholders over his ambition prior to declaring officially for the 2019 gubernatorial race in Oyo state.
Eniade who retired as Head of Service on February 7, 2018, after serving the mandatory 35 years in service, obtained degrees from Obafemi Awolowo University and University of Ibadan.
