Why Atiku Is The Most Accepted Candidate In Oyo – Campaign Coordinator, Gbolarumi

The former deputy governor of Oyo state and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi has expressed dissatisfaction over the judgement of the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal which nullified the mandate freely given to the PDP candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke by the people of the state in the July 16, 2022 governorship election.

The Osun state governorship election tribunal headed by Justice Terste Kume on Friday nullified Adeleke’s victory and declared Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the election.

Reacting to the judgment in a statement on Saturday, Gbolarumi, who is the Oyo state Coordinator, Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation said the judgment was contrary to the will of the people of the Osun, which was expressed by the overwhelming votes cast for the PDP and its candidate at the election.

The former deputy governor affirmed that the judgement is unjust, misinterpretation of the law and against the wishes of Osun people, who have fed up with the APC government.

While charging the people of Osun to be calm and continue to support Governor Adeleke, Atiku Presidential Campaign Organisation Coordinator in Oyo state, restated his confidence in the institution of the Judiciary to dispense justice in this matter at the Appellate Court.

According to the statement, “The judgement of Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on the July 16, 2022 governorship election was unacceptable to us, it was unjust, misinterpretation of the law and against the wishes of Osun people, who have fed up with the APC government.

“The election in Osun state was adjudged by local and international observers to be free, fair, transparent and clearly won by the PDP and its candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke in confirmation of the wishes and aspiration of the people.

“The will of the people of Osun as expressed by electing Governor Adeleke must be respected. I am confident that through the exploration of all available legal means the victory of Adeleke will be restored at Appellate Court.

“While i am showing my solidarity with the members of our great party, the PDP and the people of the state in general, I want to charge you to be calm and continue to support Governor Adeleke as your wishes will prevail at the Appellate Court the way the light prevail over the darkness”.
