The Vice Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adewale Babatunde, has extended warm greetings to the people of Oorelope and Oyo State at large on the occasion of this year’s Isese Day celebration, describing it as a moment to reflect on the richness of Yoruba traditions and cultural identity.
In a goodwill message personally signed by him, Babatunde applauded Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for officially declaring a work-free day in honour of Isese, which gave indigenes and residents the opportunity to freely celebrate their heritage without restriction.
“Your foresight and recognition of our heritage have given us the freedom to honour our roots, reflect on our identity, and celebrate our culture without restraint,”

The Vice Chairman also commended the Executive Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Ogundiran Jacob Oluwale, for his commitment to cultural preservation, unity, and community development, which, according to him, provided an enabling environment for the successful celebration of this year’s event.
In the same vein, Babatunde acknowledged the contributions of His Royal Highnest, Oba Dr. Moses Olawale Oyetola, the Onigbope of Igbope Land, Ona- Onibode Of Igboho Onigboho of Igboho And Alepata of Igboho praising his leadership and continuous efforts in safeguarding Yoruba heritage.
He noted that the monarch’s guidance has been instrumental in keeping the people connected to their traditions and inspiring younger generations to appreciate the values of their cultural roots.

As part of his message, Babatunde invoked prayers for the land and its people in Yoruba traditional supplication, wishing longevity, prosperity, and divine blessings upon the community.
He emphasized that Isese Day should not only be about merriment but also about strengthening unity, deepening cultural pride, and renewing the collective responsibility to pass traditions on to future generations.
“May this Isese Day strengthen the bonds of unity, deepen our cultural pride, and remind us of the sacred duty to pass these timeless traditions to future generations,” he added.
