The Vice Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Adewale Babatunde, has facilitated the registration of six local hunter associations with the Oyo State Security Agencies, describing it as part of efforts to strengthen community security and recognize the contributions of local hunters.
Hon. Wasiu Adewale fully funded the registration process and personally presented certificates to representatives of the Oba Ago, Bonni, Okegboho, Modeke, Jakuta, and Igbope Local Hunter Associations.
The presentation took place at Asipa House, which serves as the headquarters for hunters in the area. Leaders of the associations received the certificates individually from the Vice Chairman.
Speaking during the event, leaders of the hunter groups expressed appreciation to Hon. Wasiu Adewale for the gesture, describing him as one of the most committed public officials in the history of the community.
In a brief interview after the presentation, the Vice Chairman said the initiative was aimed at returning value to the grassroots and supporting Governor Seyi Makinde’s security architecture in Oyo State.
“Since assuming office as Vice Chairman, community welfare has been my priority. This registration gives our hunters formal recognition and enables them to work better with other security agencies,” he said.
Hon. Wasiu Adewale also commended Governor Seyi Makinde and the Deputy Governor for their leadership, and urged beneficiaries of government programmes to continue to support the administration.
He further called on residents to back the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) ahead of the 2027 elections, describing the party as “the strongest platform for promoting the country and ensuring a brighter future for Oyo State.”
The event was attended by leaders and members of the six hunter associations who pledged continued support for government policies at the local and state levels.
