The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, has extended Easter greetings to Christians in Orile-Igbon and across the Ogbomoso zone of Oyo State, urging them to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, love, and unity as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
In a statement made available on Friday, the monarch said, “I join Christians in Orile-Igbon and the entire Ogbomoso Zone of Oyo State in celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ, this year.”
He described the Easter season as a significant moment for reflection, adding,
“This season offers us another opportunity to remember and uphold the sacrifice which Christ made for humanity by the shedding of His blood on the cross so we may be reconciled to God.”
Oba Alao urged Christians and residents to imbibe the virtues of love and unity during the celebration, stressing the need for collective support for government initiatives aimed at improving security and development.
“As we celebrate this season, I implore us to uphold these virtues and spread love, while supporting Government’s efforts in protecting and developing our communities,” he said.
The monarch further emphasised the importance of aligning with ongoing policy frameworks, noting, “The Oyo State Government’s SAFER Agenda and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu require the support of all and sundry so our communities, state and Nigeria at large will be safer, better, and prosperous places for all citizens.”
He also offered prayers for national unity and leadership, saying,
“I pray for more wisdom for all our leaders, peaceful coexistence of Nigerians of all faiths and that God will give us the Nigeria of our dream.”
