The Olugbon of Orile-Igbon Oba Francis Alao has rejoiced with Basorun Akinwale Akinwole on the occasion of his 53rd birthday, and appointment as the Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.
Akinwole (aka Wolekanle), who is an associate of Governor Seyi Makinde, was screened by the House of Assembly last week as the new chairman of the commission.
He held a thanksgiving ceremony for the dual celebration on Sunday at the Methodist Church Nigeria Cathedral Arowomole Ogbomoso.
Oba Alao in a press release on Sunday eulogized Wolekanle, describing him as an omoluwabi who is always willing to serve and contribute meaningfully to the development of his community and Oyo State at large.
The monarch commended Governor Makinde for considering Akinwole for the appointment, expressing confidence that he will distinguish himself in the new role. He described his appointment as a round peg in a round hole, stressing that it will be of benefit to the state.
The release read in part: “I rejoice with you, Basorun Akinwale Akinwole, on the occasions of your birthday and appointment as the Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission.
