As the preparations for the 2023 general election hit top gear, the special Assistant to Oyo State Governor on OYSIEC, Hon. Tallest Innocent has once again called on women to play an active role in the build-up to the election by mobilizing other women to enroll in the ongoing continous Voter Registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission to obtain their PVCs.
Tallest said this during a meeting with women leaders of the Peoples’ Democratic Party(PDP) from the 11 wards in Ibadan North West Local Government Area, held at the council’s seceratariat Onireke.
He advised the party leaders to work towards a successful outing for the party in the upcoming general election.
While decrying the over 700,000 uncollected PVCs in Oyo state, the Governor’s aide enjoined the women to leverage on their closeness to people at the grassroots to carry out the campaign for people to collect their PVCs.
He emphasized on the devolving of the last quarter of the ongoing CVR by INEC starting from 11th April 2022, as a welcome development, urging the leaders of the PDP at the grassroots to mobilize aggressively for the re-election of the incumbent Governor of Oyo state, Eng Seyi Makinde.
