Barrister Isiaka Olagunju has been nominated as chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC).
Other members nominated for the commision include Comrade Adeniyi Afeez Babatunde, Alhaja Ganiyat Saka, Mr. Olanrewaju Emmanuel, Chief Kumi Agboola, Mr. Remi Ayoade, Mr. Sunday Falan and Mr. Adeojo Elias.
Governor Seyi Makinde has asked the Oyo State House of Assembly to ratify their appointments in accordance with the law.
The commision will conduct elections into the council areas in the state.

Barrister Abiola received his Law Degree in 1992 from the University of Lagos, Akoka Yaba, the same school Governor Seyi Makinde had his undergraduate programme.
He was enrolled to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in December 15, 1993 and started Legal Practice with BONAJO BADEJO & CO Lagos from January, 1994 to December, 1994.
In 1995, he moved his practice to Ibadan in January, 1995 when he joined the law firm of Tunde Abimbola & CO. till May, 1995.
For his vision in the legal profession, he later established ABIKE CHAMBERS with one non-professional and staff in 1995. His core areas include Intellectual Property, Corporate and Commercial Law, Receivership, and Commercial Litigation.
He is an active Bar Man. He was the Social Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ibadan Branch 2000-2001, the First National Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) (2006-2008), Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association Human Rights Institute (NBAHRI) (2008 till date), Member, National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigerian Bar Association, Member, International Bar Association Pro bono Committee, Member, National Committee on the Provision of Pro Bono Legal services for Children in Conflict with the Law and the former General Secretary of the NBA.
He is a member of the Ibadan Recreation Club (1902), The Rotary Club of Ibadan, Ibadan Polo Club, The Tiger Golf Club of Ibadan.
