The Peoples Democratic Party has named Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi as the chairman of its electoral and monitoring committee for its March 4th (Thursday) and 8th (Monday) party primaries towards the forthcoming local government election in Oyo state.
This disclosure was made in a statement signed by the party’s secretary in Oyo state, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke and made available to newsmen.
The statement reads: “The National Working Committee of our Great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has approved the nomination of a 5 man Senator Abdul Hamed Ningi led Committee to serve for the purpose of electing Councillorship and Chairmanship Candidates for the
upcoming LGA Council elections in Oyo State.
“The exercises are scheduled to hold as follows:
(i) Chairmanship Primary – Thursday March 4, 2021
(ii) Councillorship Primary – Monday March 8, 2021

“In carrying out this assignment, the Committee is expected to be guided strictly by the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), Guidelines for the conduct of Local Government Council Elections (attached) and the Electoral Act (2010 as amended).
“Successful aspirants are expected to pick their Certificate of Clearance at the party’s State Secretariat while the Chairmanship and Councillorship Appeal panels is sitting today as from 9am to attend to the complaints of uncleared aspirants.
“The Chairman of PDP in Oyo State, Alh Kunmi Mustapha, advised the delegates to take into proper account the provisions of the Nigeria government on Covid-19 as they concern social Distancing and the gathering of people in one place.”
