Lagelu North Local Council Development Area, LCDA, caretaker committee led by Hon Asimiyu Babalola who in a bid to complement the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde who chose the well-being of the people of the grassroots is paramount has commissioned projects and distributed empowerment items.
According to a statement by the Acting Head of Information unit, Oyaremi Nike, amongst the projects executed and commissioned were dredging of Kusela stream, construction of A 3.6m diameter reinforced concrete roundabout at market Oyedeji junction, eight Motorcycles for the vigilante groups, Nigerian Police Force, NSCDC, Nigerian Immigration Service and General Administration of the Local council development area.
Others were drilling of motorized borehole, procurement of submersible bumps installation of five(5) outside drawing points, procurement of comfortable office furniture and electronic gadgets for the committee members, partitioning of offices and purchase of befitting chairs and tables and other electronic gadgets for the principal officers, rehabilitation and construction of culverts at different locations of LCDA to mention a few.
In his welcome address, Hon. Babalola eulogized Governor Seyi Makinde for his persistence to make life worth living to all and sundries across the state especially the people in rural communities.
A Party stalwart representing Lagelu in the State House of Assembly Hon. Akintunde Olajide Emmanuel popularly known as AKT in his keynote remarks expressed gratitude to God and commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his laudable projects targeted at touching lives of people at the grassroots.
Hon Akintunde also appreciated the style of the council boss and his committee which he said had engineered development in council area, urging him not to relent in his efforts and make the dividends of Democracy reach every nook and cranny.
The occasion was graced by PDP big wig part of which are Lagelu Central Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Kelani Lega, Lagelu Traditional Council rulers, Religious Leaders, Party leader Chief Iwinkunle, all ward party leaders, PDP Women leaders, PDP youth leaders, Security operatives, CDC members.
