Warm and superlative encomiums have been pouring in for the Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Chief Oyebisi Ilaka, as he marks his birthday today.
Ilaka, who is a UK-trained tax lawyer, is also a prominent chief, the Ladilu of Oyo Empire.
In his birthday message to his Chief of Staff, Governor Seyi Makinde described Ilaka as a cheerful and loyal friend, adding “this is wishing him a happy birthday and many happy returns in good health.”
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adebo Ogundoyin, said Ilaka would remain an icon in the state, while wishing him a happy birthday.
Also paying glowing tribute to the Oyo-born politician is Otunba Seye Famojuro, who, in a group message, described Ilaka as a loyal patriot and his direct boss.
“Your name comes with a reputation of an untypical politician burning with the desire to work for the uplift and development of the state, rather than seeking personal benefits.
“You are such a fiercely loyal political leader and exceptionally brilliant team player. We beseech Almighty to grant you many more happy years,” Seye, as Otunba Famojuro is fondly called, said.
The tribute was also signed by Ilaka’s deputy, Olawale Abdul-Mojeed Mogbojubola, chairman Oyo Water Corporation, Dr Adebayo Adepoju, Senior Special Assistant on SDG, Kunke Yusuf, Honourable Adebayo Babajide representing Ibadan North II and Oyesina Oyedeji, Commissioner I, Local Government Service Commission.
A group of friends of the Chief of Staff also rejoices with the Ladilu, describing him as “an inspiration and worthy role model for those seeking to understand how to make impact with their lives.
“We pray God grant you many more years in good health to keep up the good work you are doing for the state and humanity,” they said.
From the four-council Oyo Federal Constituency, state functionaries also paid glowing tribute to Ilaka whom they described as their leader.
