The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Lawal Lateef Adebare, has commended security agencies and traditional rulers for their efforts in maintaining peace and security in the local government.
Speaking at the monthly Peace and Security Committee meeting, Adebare appreciated the Nigeria Police Force, Operation Burst, Civil Defence, DSS, NDLEA, and other agencies for their hard work in ensuring the safety of residents.
Adebare also thanked traditional rulers, including the Asawo of Ayete, HRM Oba E. E Okeniyi, and the Elempe of Tapa land, HRM Oba Sunday Titiloye, for their fatherly roles in promoting peace and culture in the local government.
The chairman noted that despite the achievements recorded in the past 12 months, there is still a need for vigilance, especially during the yuletide season when there will be an influx of people into the local government.
He urged security agencies to be proactive in guiding major flashpoints and preventing any form of crime.
Adebare also warned against the potential for farmers/herders’ conflicts during the dry season, urging security agencies to be alert and prevent any infractions.
He emphasized the importance of synergy among security agencies and the need for collective responsibility in maintaining security.
The chairman announced that the security meeting will henceforth hold every month starting from next year.
He commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde, for his support in the area of security and thanked all stakeholders for their contributions to peace and security in Ibarapa North Local Government.
