The winner of the just concluded Ibarapa East State Constituency bye election, Adebo Ogundoyin has received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ogundoyin who contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party defeated seven other candidates including the candidate of the ruling party in the state, Kunle Adeyemo. Ogundoyin was declared winner having polled 6277 votes, while APC’s Kunle Adeyemo came second with 4619 votes, Accord party’s Adepoju Adebodun Ademola came third with 2859. The total number of valid votes is 13871 and rejected votes is 308.
In a picture obtained by insideoyo.com , the son of late industrialist from Eruwa, Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, was seen with a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and a former governor in the state, Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja.
His victory at the poll has been regarded by the Peoples Democratic Party at the National level as giant step towards reclaiming the South Western part of the country.
