An Ibadan Chief, Oloye Lekan Alabi, has been appointed as the cultural ambassador of the National Museum, Ile-Ife of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments.
The Ife Museum has one of the best exhibition galleries in the country.
The veteran broadcaster is the Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadanland.
A statement signed by Olasunkade Azeez, on Wednesday, said the appointment letter, AF. 333/IFM/ΧV11/1351, was signed by the Curator of the museum, Mr. J.O. Ogundele.
“In his response to the appointment, Oloye Alabi regarded the appointment as a recognition and honour. He takes the exalted position with humility and appreciation with a promise to continue to promote the practice of Yoruba culture across the world with a passion for continuity across generations.
“It will be recalled that Alabi holds various appointments in the community of culture in Nigeria in appreciation of his immense contributions to propagation of culture of the Yoruba race, including the Chairman, Adegoke Adelabu Foundation; Cultural Ambassador of Omo Ajorosun Club, Ibadan; Trustee of Yusuf Olatunji Foundation, Duro Ladipo Foundation, D.O Fagunwa Foundation and Adekunle Fajuyi Foundation among others,’’ the statement read.
Meanwhile, the formal presentation of the insignia of office will hold soon in Ile-Ife soon.
