With the election of Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao (OHA) of the Alliance for Democracy as the governor of Oyo State in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, it has been said that the fortunes of the entire Oke-Ogun area of the state would greatly change for the better.

This was contained in the New Year message made by Hon. Barr. Tajudeen Ademola Adeniji, (a.k.a Aduke Ade) the Director-General, Oyedele Hakeem Alao (OHA) Campaign Organization, the organization handling the campaign activities of the state Alliance for Democracy (AD) gubernatorial candidate in the state.

Ahead of March 2019 gubernatorial poll, he said, “a lot of people are out now, seeking our people’s votes, but, as a committed loyalist of past great leaders known to be thorough-bred progressive politicians, I have no hesitation to tell my people that Engr. Oyedele Hakeem Alao of the AD towers above them all when it comes to progressive ideology”.

As a son of the soil, “I can claim to know where the shoe pinches us and this I have placed side by side the programmes of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) and its
candidate for the governorship seat and I have no doubt that should we give him our support to become the state governor, our story in Oke-Ogun area will be changed for the better.

“Nobody can doubt our commitment to progressive politics in Oke-Ogun area and some people had in the past cajoled us into believing them to be progressives, only for them to get our votes and turn into another thing. We must take caution this time around and refuse to be hoodwinked”, the Federal lawmaker stated further.

Calling on the people of Oke-Ogun area of the state not to loose their age long tradition of progressivism when it comes to politics, the Okeho-born lawyer-politician enjoined his people to look before they leap, so that they would not be taken for a ride again by the pseudo progressive politicians.

“As the nation goes into poll early this year to elect another set of leaders both at the state and national levels, we know ourselves when it comes to political ideology and this is why I want my people to shine their eyes and refuse to fall for cheap propaganda. We are distinguished as forthright and straight-forward and these attributes must not be jettisoned as we make our choice during the coming elections”, he further enjoined.

While wishing the generality of the people a happy and prosperous new year, he called for cautious celebration, especially on the part of the youths, stressing that as much as celebration is welcomed to usher in the new year, everybody must be conscious of the need to take caution so as not to do anything that would cause breach of the peace.
