It was a moment of commendation for the Founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Giwa by the chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC), parents and residents of Lagelu/Akinyele Federal Constituency as he paid for the 2022 West African Examination Council (WAEC) of 45 students in the constituency.

Arc Giwa, who paid a sum of N20, 000.00 and other examination expenses for each of the beneficiary student, did the same last year where about 30 students benefitted from the gesture across the constituency.

The presentation ceremony was held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the HOG Foundation’s Office, located at Texaco Bus-Stop, Iwo-Road, Ibadan.

In attendance to give praise to Arc Giwa at the event were APC chieftains in Lagelu and Akinyele Local Governments including Hon. Fatai Awoyoola, Hon. Kehinde Adeleke, Hon. Gbenga Adekanmbi, Hon. Olumide Yakub Ali (OYA), Hon. Sikiru Adebayo (Kajue), Chief Segun Ajuwon and Hon. Abidemi Olagoke (Atorise)

Others are Hon. Akeem Safejo, Hon. Remi Adebayo, Hon. Akinyinka Akinwale, Hon. Tajudeen Salam, Hon. Femi Akinyemi and Hon. Akeem Arowomole, who is the Chairman of Educational Support Scheme Committee.

In his address, Arc Hassan Giwa, explained that the focus of the initiative is to assist children of the less privileged people who are doing well in their studies within our communities to further their educational career.

He added that this is also to compliment whatever effort their parents are doing towards giving them good education and better tomorrow.

“We are here to touch a life that is the way I would say it in a plane language, we are here to empower school pupils as usual as regards giving them a supporting hand for their WAEC registration. We are not doing this for the sake of given out money, we are doing it to encourage the students to strive to give in their best irrespective of background they come from to enable them to become good ambassadors of their families. And it is our believe that the gesture will go a long way to compliment whatever their parents are doing towards giving them good education and better tomorrow.

“We are trying to change the narrative in the society that teaching the people how to fish is the best rather than giving them fish. We are trying to engage our youths, taking them off the streets where they can be used as instrument of destruction. We are trying to give our youths hope to believe that there is light at the end of the tunnel. This is what Hassan Olawale Giwa Foundation is all about. It is what we have been doing for over 15 year,” Arc Giwa said.

While advising the parents to monitor the movement of their children and provide necessary things that will make them excel in the studies, Arc. Giwa implored the students to make their education a priority by study well and pass their examinations with good grades.

Arc Giwa also urged all leaders and members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State to come together and deliver the state from the government of monopoly.

“My gratitude to all leaders and members of our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC), let me say this for record purpose, it is time to come together, it is time to work together to achieve the APC of our dream, the APC that will rule Nigeria beyond 2023, the APC that that will rule Oyo State comes 2023.”

In their separate remarks, the chieftains of the All Progressives Congress in Lagelu and Akinyele Local Governments, Hon. Sikiru Adebayo (Kajue), Chief Segun Ajuwon, Hon. Olumide Yakub Ali (OYA) and Hon. Akinyinka Akinwale, commended the HOG Foundation Founder for his kind gesture towards the members of the party and people of the Lagelu/Akinyele federal constituency at large.

They identified Arc Hassan Giwa as a reliable and responsible personality who is able and capable to represent the party and bring back the glory.

Two of the beneficiary students, who spoke on behalf of others, Alakunle Pelumi from School of Science, Pade and Mustapha Rokhibat from Community Grammar School, Lagun, thanked Arc Giwa for the opportunity given to them and prayed that God almighty make all his desires come into fruition.
