The immediate past Chairman of the Oyo state Rural Water and Sanitation Agency, OYORUWASSA, Engineer Najeem Omirinde has dumped the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Omirinde who joined the All Progressives Congress, APC at Ward 6, Saki West local government area was received into the party at the general meeting on Friday, in Saki.
During his term at OYORUWASSA, Omirinde played a significant role and was instrumental to how UNICEF returned to Oyo state after they had left 7 years ago.
UNICEF supported Oyo state in the area of Education, Health, Environments. Particularly, to ensure the achievement of Open Defecation free in Ona Ara, Egbeda and Ibarapa East LGAs.
He also played a major role in the drafting and launching of Oyo state ODF policy, Drafting of WASH document for the improvement of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) conditions in the state and others.
Omirinde represented Saki West state Constituency at the Oyo state House of Assembly from 1991 to 1993, where his legislative contributions left an indelible mark.
He was also a Member of the Oyo State Rural Electrification Board in 2005. during Governor Rashidi Ladoja’s tenure.
