President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointments of Principal Officers and Members of the Governing Council for Federal Polytechnic, Ayede, Ogbomoso.
A statement, on Thursday, in Abuja, by the Ben Goong, Director Press & Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Education, said the Chairmen and Members of the Governing Council of the affected Institutions shall be inaugurated by the Honourable Minister of Education at a date to be announced.
The Governing Councils and principal officers of Federal Polytechnic Ayede are as follows:
In February, the federal government approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State.
It also approved a take-off grant of N2 billion for the new Polytechnic from the “funding resources of TETFund for the provision of core facilities for immediate take-off.”
The polytechnic sited in Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa L.G.A is set for commencement of academic activities October 2021.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the pioneer Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, representing South-South as new Governing Council chairman of the University of Ibadan.
Oyegun’s appointment followed the dissolution and reconstitution of the governing council of the institution.
Other members of the new Council as follows: Dr Masud Kazaure, member North West; Comrade Abba Yaro, North Central; Alhaji Abubakar Maikafi; North East; Hon. Emeka Nwagbo, member South East.
