A former Federal Board Member and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Ishola Akeem Adetoyese, has strongly condemned allegations made by former Oyo State House of Assembly member, Hon. Segun Olaleye ‘Radical’, against Florence Ajimobi.
Olaleye, who once represented Ibadan North Constituency II two times, recently lost his bid to secure the APC ticket for a return to the state assembly. Following the setback, he has made a series of public outbursts, including claims during a radio interview that Florence Ajimobi orchestrated his failure to clinch the party’s ticket.
Reacting to the allegation, Adetoyese described Olaleye’s claims as baseless and unwarranted, urging him to accept responsibility for his political misfortune rather than dragging respected figures into the controversy.
He stressed that Florence Ajimobi, wife of the late former Oyo State governor, Abiola Ajimobi, neither has the interest nor the political influence to determine the outcome of party primaries in Ibadan North.
Adetoyese further argued that if she could not influence the emergence of Kolapo Kola-Daisi, she certainly could not dictate political outcomes in the local government.
He admonished Olaleye to “face his failure” and move on, rather than making unfounded accusations capable of tarnishing the image of individuals who are not connected to his political challenges.
The APC chieftain also called for maturity among party members, noting that internal disputes should be handled with decorum to preserve party unity ahead of future elections.
